Distrito de las Escuelas and Old Town Residential Historic Districts are S and W of the Plaza. District shows the original Hispanic style of homes which turn their backs to the street and center life around protective patios. The District includes the Don Miguel Romero y Baca House, Francisco Lopez House and Rhena Pearce House.
These sites are the earliest homes in Las Vegas. Construction of traditional adobe with flat roofs. Many of them predate 1846. Homes at 1214 and 1216 South Pacific are good examples of the early Hispanic building style.
