While traveling through the historic communities along the Santa Fe Trail in New Mexico , visitors will find an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities such as fishing, hunting, hiking. But, sometimes a visit to the local theater is just the ticket.

There are several old movie theaters along the Santa Fe Trail in New Mexico, but a real jewell on the trail is the historic Shuler Theater located in Downtown Raton, New Mexico. It is still used today for many live performances throughout the year.

Serf Movie Theater street front


The Serf Theater in Las Vegas, New Mexico hosted a Hollywood-style premier for the Academy Awards Best Picture of 2007, No Country for Old Men but is currently closed until further notice.

The theater, built in 1915, was designed in European Rococo style and boasts near-perfect acoustics. The lobby is decorated with WPA art murals.
